Regarding the issue of professors not checking sources--I was fortunate enough to
complete an 18 month paid internship for the graduate research library at the
university where I was completing my MLS.
Us interns had many professors who came in and had us check sources. some just
dropped off copies of Works Cited lists and others worked alongside us.
So tell your students THAT ONE.
