Having worked as a high school librarian since 1974 in a school with a current population of approximately 1700 students, and having a degree in curriculum and instruction, it has always been a primary goal of mine for the library to be a partner in actual curriculum planning and development. However, over the years, I have not been able to achieve the degree of involvement that I desire, despite attending weekly department head meetings, providing a current awareness service, presenting staff workshops, sponsoring contests, soliciting staff recommendations for amterials, and working jointly on a health reference grant with the public library, to name some activities. I am seeking other imaginative ideas to promote this goal, beyond attending department meetings. What have you done that has proved successful? What strategies, techniques, ideas, programs have you employed? Also, what hasn't worked? Your ideas would be most welcome!. Thanks. Dr. Renee Peppercorn Librarian Chelmsford High School N.
