Middle School Library Skills Question

My 7th and 8th grade middle school is switching to a 90 minute A/B block
schedule this year.  I have been assigned to teach library skills as
part of a 6 week rotation.  In reality, I will have the same group of
students for three weeks.  I would certainly appreciate any and all
suggestions for planning this class.  Do any of your districts have a
school/county/district set of learner objectives?  I have been assigned
to also write the standards for these classes.
