This is the response I posted:
As a school librarian (34 years in the business), I work with ALL the
departments on my campus, not just the English Department (it helps that I
am a department head, and attend all department chair meetings). I work
daily with a broad range of classes and disciplines. Placing this fine
discussion resource in the "English center" only reenforces the idea in
(especially) new teacher's minds that the library is the province of the
English faculty.

School libraries are (or should be) resources for the *entire* campus. I
would urge that this board be moved to an area more general in its scope,
so that all teachers using this resouce would see libraries as being common
to all levels and disciplines.

My quarter's worth....

Mark Williams, Librarian
Colton High School Library
