It helps to weed on a continuous basis. With just some books here and
there, they're easier to make disappear. Not that I speak from perfection.
My last elementary library went thru a major upgrade and we wound up
with carts and carts of weeded books one spring-- several thousand
before we were through.

Now that I'm in a pretty new library, one of my goals is to stay
on top of the weeding process and not let the shelves collect a few
thousand duds.

Of course we all know about the best laid plans. I left a cart of
dud donations in the back room when I left for the summer. I need to
get in there and start shredding before it's too late.
