Staamp them WITHDRAWN also no matter what you do with them. Even if they go into the trash. I've also heard to tear out some of the pages. Then there is no question. And use trash in another location. Of course, following policy. >>> Taliah Abdullah <bklover10@HOTMAIL.COM> 08/05/02 14:01 PM >>> I have weeded some of the picture book collection, and am now wondering what to do with the books. Originally I thought I would offer books to the teachers, then those left to students. As I am going through these books I am unsure of this offering. I, myself, would not want some of these books. Coffee-stained, torn, but taped up pages, food smudges, etc. I am disgusted just touching some of them and can see why they may not have circulated. Besides being old and boring looking they are just plain dirty. Do I put my personal feelings aside and set the books out for the taking and let others judge for themselves? Also do you offer materials to teachers first, and then students or vice versa. I was thinking about setting some books out during registration on Aug. 15 for students and parents, but the teachers don't officially come back until the following week. Or should I wait until school begins, offer to the teachers, and any left over students are welcome to take. Any advice is appreciated.
