Books on the Beach is an event sponsored by Horry County School District - Myrtle
Beach, SC.
Year before last, when I was NOT working on National Boards, I had a beach party
in my library as a finale to National Library Week. Kids dressed "beachy," played
music, brought beach towels, and we served hot dogs and soft drinks. It was a
hit. It was raining outside, but very bright inside. It was a special treat for
kids who live 200 miles from the beach.
