Maus seems to be considered autobiographical or a memoir in some
reviews, historical in others, and a novel in most. It wound up in the
940's in my library, but I'm pretty sure I'll move it to the Fiction
section (historical novel).

I think there would be a place for graphic novels in the 800's if you
didn't want to put them with Fiction. Since there are some GNs that are
SF, some Fantasy, some Realistic, some Historical; I wonder if making a
new subdivision for Graphic Novels is best.

Would a display while new, and keeping a GN bib handy work for access?

I have just ordered some graphic novels from Follett. I always order
complete processing from them, and have been satisfied with most of the
catalog numbers they assign. Maus, for example, is in the 940s; Tale of
One Bad Rat is fiction. Would it be better, do you think, to give them
all the same number regardless of subject? I suppose they could all fit
in 745.
