I read the books "No, David", "David Goes to School", and now "David Gets in Trouble" to my primary students. The second grade students talk about library rules and draw David doing things that he shouldn't in the library. They love it. The first grade students draw the face of David's mother or teacher since all you see on the front page is from the neck down and discuss her feelings because David acts the way he does. We bring library rules into the discussion and they talk about how I feel when they don't do what they should. I find that this approach is much more successful than just telling the students library rules and it also relates to one of their favorite book characters. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Madeline L.
