I received many instant replies, thank you; unfortunately many replies were about local museums which are not available here in Nicaragua, but perhaps for many of you.=20 =20 =20 =20 One of my "old" librarian friends tells me there is a technique for using clear contact paper to "lift" color pictures off magazines for transparencies. She said it must be printed on a clay-based/coated paper, though, and not many of them are these days... =20 In that same vein (with appropriate permission) you might be able to print directly on transparency paper from the Web on certain printers. =20 =20 Adventures in Art Overhead Transparencies =20 by Sandra Noble c1993 =20 Davis Publications, Inc Worcester, Mass. =20 Try American Library Color Slide Co at 1 800 633 3307 or Universal Color slide at 1 800 326 1367 =20 We had been considering replacing some of our art slides which had aged=20 so that the colors were no longer true. Thus I have recent catalogs from these 2 firms. However, instead we've subscribed to the AMICO electronic database available from H.W. Wilson. It's an Internet service of art slides and background material from museums. You might want to look into a trial. It's not expensive at all and could be used by your English, social studies, and art depts. =20 We have purchased those items from the Chicago Museum of Art. =20 =20 =20 Try the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston or another art museum. She/he may even be able to borrow some. http://www.store.yahoo.com/mfa/museum-resources.html =20 I've seen them for sale at various art museums; e.g., the Houston Museum of Fine Art, the Boston MFA, etc. =20 Try Sax at www.saxarts.com. We have ordered art history materials from them. =20 National Geographic has some beautiful transparency kits -- the one on the Renaissance is fabulous! =20 There is a company called Slide Scribe that would be good. I beleive they have a website. Their slides are beautiful and you can get descriptions along with the slides.
