JOIN US FOR A DEMONSTRATION
OF ONLINE DATABASES

Jericho Public Library
4:30 PM

LISMA  (Long Island School Media Association) is pleased to
sponsor a late
afternoon session designed to help you choose online
databases for your library
with next year's budget in mind. Presenters will include
Kathleen Ellis of The
Berkeley Carroll School, Judy James of Friends Academy and
Diane Neary of
Nightingale-Bamford School. Each librarian will provide
specific useful
information about all of the databases their library
subscribes to, and
will demonstrate some of their favorites. Also on hand will
be Debbie
Jaszcar from NSLS who will distribute the online database
rubric which she
developed with a committee of library media specialists. In
addition,
Adele Bildersee from The Dalton School, whose recent article
on top
periodical databases appeared in School Library Journal will
be on hand to
answer questions. Attendees will be encouraged to share
their relevant
experiences. The programs covered will be geared to Middle
and High
School libraries. There will be time for questions and
answers.
Refreshments will be served.

From the Long Island Expressway, take Exit 41N or Northern
State Parkway
to Exit 35N (Rte.106/107). Proceed North 1/4 mile to Rte. 25
(Jericho
Turnpike). Drive East on Jericho Turnpike 1 block to Merry
Lane. Turn
South on Merry Lane, and proceed 100 feet to the library on
the east side
