Okay, I have to put my two cents in here. As a public librarian moved into the public and now private school arena, I have noticed a BIG difference in attitudes towards students' right to read what they choose. My problem with the whole parental request thing? What if a student is gay, yet the parent doesn't want the child reading books about sex? Does this mean he/she wouldn't be allowed to pick up and read a book written by other homosexual teens? This seems totally against the purpose of libraries... Louise C.
