Hi Everyone! I'm interested in gathering information concerning equitable distribution of funds to media centers that are part of large school systems. I intend to integrate this information into a paper, for my MLIS program, that investigates this topic. My interest comes from being recently employed in an elementary school that is part of a district of 141 schools (81 of them being elementary.) Funds are distributed to media centers generally on a per pupil basis. For various reasons including: the wide age range of schools and collections, specialized magnet school programs, huge school population ranges, etc. - I am interested in understanding if this method of distributing money is the most effectual. (My investigation has nothing to do with supplementary funding such as grants, PTSA, donations, etc.) If you are part of a similiarly large school system, and could share information as to your funding methadology, I would certainly appreciate your input! Also, if I can compile any responses in a concise format for this forum, I will do so. Please respond to my personal email, not to the discussion board. Thanks so much, Camilla Goulet (Media Specialist-Sharon Ele., Charlotte, NC) millcharlotte@yahoo.com P.S. Thanks to an overwhelming number of you who responded to a stumper of mine, a while back - you're awesome! --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
