When parents make requests for us to monitor their children's book selection
we try to honor their wishes. However, we make it clear to them that in the
course of our day we deal with many children. We can not guarantee that we
will catch their child checking out materials that they don't approve of.
We encourage them to discuss their expectations with their child. Their
child should know what mom or dad wants them to check out. This is a mater
between them and their child. If the child disobeys them it is their
responsibility to deal with it. Libraries offer choices. Our patrons must
choose what they deem appropriate.
