I just had a teacher in asking if the Magic School Bus books are fiction or nonfiction. Her students were divided in their opinions. She felt the book was fantasy with some scientific facts included. I told her I considered it a science book (nonfiction) with some entertaining elements of fantasy added. One of her students pointed out a statement on the back cover that this title had one a nonfiction book award. At any rate, we had a good discussion and concluded that it's not always easy to place something in a single category. I checked the archives and saw similar discussions have been undertaken in the past. Does anyone have anything new to add or that would clarify this?
