ELEM: Book title needed - boy & tick-tock the dog?

Third grade child asked me today about a book he recalled checking out of
the library  ( he thinks) and he wanted it again. Of course he can't
remember the title or the author, or even what part of the fiction
section it came from. Can someone in LMNET-land help?

It's about a boy and a dog. The dog's name may be something like Tick
Tock. Child says the book has a blue cover and the boy and dog are on the
cover.

Any clues? I checked our OPAC using keyword Tick or tock, thinking maybe
the word would appear in the title or summary, but didn't have any luck.
