GEN: Musings over radio spot on security guards

While driving today I head a radio spot concerning the hiring of federal
guards for the airports. Wish I had taped it. Basically the spot concerne=

a controversary over the gualifications - specifically the need for a hig=
h
school diploma. My first reaction was was that it reaffirmed the need for=

an education. My second reaction wondered exactly what in the typical hig=
h
school course of study would enable good securty guards for the airports.=
 =

Then the radio show went on to say that the reason for an high school
education was that these guards needed to be able to react to many
different situation.

My reaction now, doesn't this reaffirm out push for information literacy?=


I hope to work this into an inservice we are planning for late January. N=

I just wish I had taped the show, or at least got the name of the show it=

was on.
