TARGET:title for older book about a girl with a tail

   A teacher came to me with a typed description of a book that she read
years ago and would like to find it to share with her children.
   This is what she wrote:
   "The story is aobut a little girl who has a tail. The tail, as I
remember, looked like a dragon's tail. She had dark straight black hair and
lived with her mother and possibly aunts and/or her grandmother. The women
did not have tails. The girl wants to get rid of her tail. The person was
sort of like a witch or a gypsy type person. The tail is removed magically.
At the end the little girl is looking out her window at the moon. She is
happy that her tail is gone but misses it just a little."
