I have had teachers drop videos and break them, check out 25 books and return 23 and say " one of the students must have taken it" etc. I am NOT allowed to charge them. I have teachers who check out books in August and return them in May and I can't charge them fines. I bet I lose 10--12 items a year checked out by teachers. Considering there are less than 50 faculty members I probably lose more per person than I do with students. I have never understood the reasoning of letting teachers get away with this. They are actually insulted or put out when you ask them to look for the items. My principal feels if you charge teachers fines or make them pay for lost books then they will just quit using the library! Jeanna Dennis, LMS C.F.
