I like to do a lesson on the Caldecott Awards each year. I do a history of the awards and lead a discussion about illustrations. I also like to stage a mock awards contest. The students really enjoy this and it is fun for them to see if their selections end up winning. I have my own ideas about which books should be in the running. I'd love to hear other's opinions. Send me your suggestions.
