We have a special sign out form that must be signed by a principal when equipment is taken off campus but we have not been very rigid about it. When things go to classrooms they are not tracked if they stay IN the building. We have been warning our staff however about how the new digital cameras, laptops and camcorders must be treated with a lot more concern since they are so desireable. No one ( perhaps an overstatement) ever wanted to own their own film strip projector or overhead. Taking equipment without even a note has been a problem for us, too. I spent a frantic week thinking our Sony Mavica was stolen when it was not where we had locked it up over the summer. Yep, the principal loaned it to a teacher. If I remember I am going to place a large sign with post -it notes to be filled out before I leave next summer.Cheryl A. Sturgeon Elem. Library/Media Spec.
