And now about damage - How do you assess a teacher for damages to equipment. Unless they admit that it was run over or dropped in the lake how can you hold them responsible. We have a Olympus digital camera that will not turn on. I was tghe last one to use it. I did not cause the problem through any mistreatment it just malfunctions. The on/off button won't work any more. We had a problem when it was new and it was fixed by manufacturer. Now they say it is our problem and it will be $156 to fix (send at our expense to Long Beach, CA) Admin. and tech dept say forget it, we can get a new one for not much more. It bugs me however to just let this thing that was originally $600 become trash. So I guess I have two points here: How do you assign responsibility for damage? AND has anyone else had problems with an Olympus DL-600 digital camera. We had 4 in the district and I think 2 are still operating. Cheryl A. Sturgeon Elem. Library/Media Spec.
