I would talk about our  curricular, leadership, teacher and staff
development roles. I'd talk about how  media specialists help
teachers and their students  be successful.  I'd stay away from doing
anything that they already likely to know about.

  I frequently speak to college classes and they are amazed at what we
do.  I recently showed university students some Hyperstudio projects
completed by 6th grade.  After I showed the projects we discussed
everything that went into making those projects.  The discussion
included media spec/teacher planning, instruction, research note
taking skills, scanning, organizational skills, assisting students,
coping with technology problems.  I wanted to stress how I worked
with the teacher and the students and how important it is to plan
carefully and give studets the proper instruction prior to beginning
projects.
