I was asked to share the information I recieved on where you could find info about a certain year. http://dmarie.com/timecap/step1.asp This is a cool site for finding headlines, birthdays, top songs, tv shows, toys and books for any year. Go to the History Channel's web site (www.historychannel.com, I think). You can type in an exact date and get historical info. Here are some links I use when our students are doing timelines; I suspect the last one would be particularly helpful because the students could put in the dates they were interested in. Good luck. links to multiple timelines http://www.canisius.edu/~emeryg/time.htm http://www.smokylake.com/Christy/History.htm http://www.searchbeat.com/history.htm Twentieth Century Inventions http://inventors.about.com/gadgets/inventors/mbody.htm http://history1900s.about.com/homework/history1900s/cs/timelines/index.htm http://www.time-warp.org/ American Memory Timeline http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpedu/features/timeline/index.html American Cultural History http://www.nhmccd.edu/contracts/lrc/kc/decade20.html change the digit in the URL to get a different decade Our TimeLines http://www.ourtimelines.com/index.shtml create personalized timelines of events and people by putting in starting and ending dates Here you go.
