This is not a "trend" unless the "trend" has been going on for at least 35
years that I know about. It happened on a fairly regular basis way back
when I was in a student working in the library of a Christian boarding
school. It happened more often to the Dean of Boys than to the library
back then though. Some one or more of the male students of the high school
has pulled the order card out of a copy of the magazine on the store rack
and sent it in using a phony name and address. They no doubt think it is a
great joke and are hoping to hear a very swift, strict reaction promising
major trouble for the perpetrator of this scam. If they get what they want
I would bet on more subscriptions arriving soon.
