In a moment of sheer madness, I began giving students cancelled foreign
postage stamps. It's a long story, but is part of an introduction to the
Winter Olympics, a way of bribing them through my "coaching" for CSAP's, and
an attempt to get kids involved in the global experience.
The kids are expected to study the stamp, jot down the country it is from,
the capital of the country, the continent the country is located on. While
I have always considered myself sort of savy with geography, I discovered
today that some of the stamps are VERY difficult to "interpret"! Some of
the names are in the native language and for the life of me, I am unsure how
the kids or their parents are going to be able to read them!
Has anyone found a web site with international postal stamp information?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
