Hello, There may be no need to buy software to stop popup windows. Just go to the 'preferences' area of your browser (you didn't mention which you were using) and turn off the 'javascript' capabilities. In Netscape 6.2 you will find this under: Edit / Preferences / Advanced (just select the word 'advanced') I don't use the Explorer. If you are not the computer guru you should ask her how to do it. Hope this helps. I have created a webquest on my website with the links that I wanted kids to use so they would stay on task and not get lost. http://www.usd327.org/EES/EESlib/Countries%20WQpage.htm The students were supposed to look up their country and take notes on the information that they found. Most of the afternoon, however, was spent closing up popup ad windows and getting kids out of ad sites that they mistakenly ended up in. Fortunately none of the ads were for inappropriate sites but both the kids and I were more frustrated than informed. I didn't remember this being a problem when I found the sites and made the web page. Did I pick poor sites? Are there better ones? Does anyone know of a software program that will block unsolicited popup windows, preferably free or shareware. A search of the internet found a few commercial sites but they were beyond our budget. Any suggestions on how to deal with this would be appreciated.
