Hi, Hi, One of my freshman English teacher's has asked for a book recommendation to replace Silas Marner. She would like the replacement to be a novel written in the 19th century, British or American. We're looking for a change if possible, but want to maintain the time period in writing style and language, and hopefully the length, which is not too long and frustrating. As I used to be an engineering librarian for 10 years, I really need your help with suggestions! Thanks in advance for any ideas. cd =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D CD McLean Librarian Upper Division Berkeley Preparatory School 4811 Kelly Rd.
