I need help with two requests.
1) I have been in a 1-12 school for the past 10 years. A friend asked me to
speak about books and reading to her Mothers of Preschoolers group. I can
speak about current picture books, but I am weak in the area of concept
books, ie counting, colors,, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions of
tips to offer, current books to read, anything that would help in my talk
with this group.
2) I have a fourth grade boy who is dyslexic and has major trouble reading.
He is extremely interested in science, history, and animals and has a lot of
knowledge about these subjects. He only wants to "read" nonfiction books.
His teacher and mother have both requested titles of fiction books to help
with his reading and with AR. Both have agreed to let him alternate between
fiction and nonfiction. I have recommended the Magic Tree House series and
he has read and enjoyed several of them. I am not sure what to recommend
next.

Any help you can give on either or both of these requests will be greatly
appreciated.
THANKS.
