flex schedule problem

Hi all,
I am a parent in a three school 1-6 elementary system.  I am on the technology 
committee as well as helping to raise funds for the media centers t become 
automated.  The media specialist have written a draft of a flex schedule proposal 
to go into the new tech plan but we know it will face opposition as the teachers in 
the district are allotted 150 planning time per week and library visits are part of 
that time.  How do other school manage this issue?
