Netters, A teacher at my school asked if I could find out if a story had been plagiarized. She thinks it sounds like Edgar Allan Poe. I did an advanced search on Google but came up empty. Do any of you recognize it? "How do all stories begin if not at the beginning? I wish this were the case, but the animal had lived longer than my 14 years or at least insofar as I remember. Nobody really remembers its appearance. It could be that some kind of a curse in days gone by had been left at our doorstep. I say a curse for my father's employer Sarah, the Mistress of the house and whom he had served faithfully for longer than The Beast in question was old, loved the devious creature..."
