Read Across America : Middle School : Idea and Target 1

Dear Colleague,

We are a northern New Jersey middle school (Grades 5 –
8). As part of a Read Across America project we are
polling our students per the questions below. We hope
to kick the survey off during Read Across America week
and enhance it to include results from at least 1
school in all 50 states. We will display the results
on a huge U.S. map during National Library Week (April
14th – 20th) and I will post it on LM_NET at the same
time. Feel free to share our idea for your own
project!

If you are able to participate, please have your
students answer the questions. In case you prefer to
distribute written copies of the questions, I have
posted a copy of the student letter for you to
photocopy. Have capable students from each grade tally
the results and email the top 3 responses for each
question. Please send them to directly to my email
