Greetings from the School Media/Technology Division of the
Association for Educational Communications and Technology!

As you may already be aware, AECT was the co-sponsor/creator of
"Information Power" and some of our division members were involved
with the writing of this valuable resource! Because of this we
realize that readers of LM_NET have many common interests with our
membership and so we invite you to learn more about our division by
reading on=8A

If
=8Ayou a K-12 educator involved with the integration of media and
technology into the learning process,
=8Ayou are a media specialist, a technician, a computer or technology
teacher, a network coordinator, or other technology professional,
=8Ayou are interested in developing and maintaining technology-rich
learning environments necessary for students to become productive
citizens,
=8Ayou like camaraderie and sharing with people who have a common
vision and interests,
=8Ayou believe information literacy, technology literacy and media
literacy are important components of the "basics" in K-12 education...

Here's how...

1.Visit the AECT web site at www.aect.org to join or re-establish
your membership! (You may join as many divisions as you'd like at no
additional cost!)
2.Attend the annual AECT convention
-meet officers and other members at the annual meeting or the reception
-participate in SMT sponsored sessions
-volunteer to work at the membership display
3.Volunteer for a committee
4.Write an article for our newsletter
5.Send a news item or photo for the web site
6.Submit a proposal for presenting at the annual convention
7.Network with colleagues and share your expertise
