It's like the old saying "you can never be too rich or thin" ------
you can never have enough server space
how much you need will of course depend on the student population and the
types of projects they do. Sorry, I don't know the size of our server.
Our students have been saving to a server for 5 years; we outgrew our space
and are getting a new K-12 server. We have various directories; staff,
public apps and one for each grade level.
One thing we have done that is really helpful is that the student user
names all contain their graduation year; for example next year's 6th grade
students will have user names that end in 09
We had subdirectgories for A-J, L-Q etc but are going to one directory
for each grade level.

It's important to set some strict guidelines on what they can store; it
takes kids no time at all to download graphics, movies eetc. We post
those guidelines on every computer and anyone caught doing that loses
privileges for awhile unless they are with a teacher.
