Hi, my name is Sherry Lancaster and I'm just completing my LMS = certification this summer. I've been teaching for 14 years, but this = coming year will be my first one in the library. However, due to = scheduling conflicts between my graduate classes and the beginning of = the school year, the district is hiring a sub, and giving me three weeks = of release time to complete my classes. I fully expect to be asked to = write lesson plans for this sub. =20 Ordinarily, this would not be a problem, but I am feeling a bit = overwhelmed at writing k-5 lesson plans for a sub to follow for three = weeks for a job I have never done myself. I don't know the collection, = or the population yet. If I were beginning the year, I would focus on = teaching procedures and doing "get acquainted" type activities. = However, I don't know what the procedures were last year, and haven't = had a chance to create any of my own yet. I also don't know how = valuable "get acquainted" activities would be with a temporary sub. I'm new to LM Net, but am amazed at the wonderful ideas and terrific = resources contributed to this network. I'm hoping some of you have = great ideas, or resources to help me create meaningful lesson plans in = my absence. I will appreciate even broad guidelines to keep in mind as = I search for ideas. Keep in mind, I don't know if this sub will be a = librarian, or a college student! Many thanks in advance for any words = of wisdom!
