LM_NET Archive



Just make sure you have a donation policy in place that
states something to the effect:  "all gifts become the
property of the [    ]  Library and may be added to the
collection or dispersed with in any way the library sees
fit."

The three public libraries I have worked for had this on
a donation form, which the donor signed and got a copy
of. All of those libraries would look at donations
carefully, adding to the collection those that fit
collection development critera, giving away after that
to staff, and selling the rest in their annual book
sales.
