is looking for a School Library Sytem Director. Following is the

The School Library System (SLS), is a state-funded program designed to
support the school library media programs of member public school districts
and nonpublic schools. SLS provides specific services and programs that
support the learning process of students, teachers and staff. SLS promote
increased student achievement through the use of quality school library
media programs, library resources, and information. Western Suffolk BOCES
is seeking a SLS Coordinator to serve within the towns of Babylon,
Huntington and Smithtown.
Job Overview: Coordinate the system-wide development and maintenance of
databases of library material and regional resource sharing involving all
types of libraries and be an active participant in the Statewide Library
Network. The SLS Coordinator will provide leadership for Western Suffolk
County school libraries and their integration into the schools
instructional programs. The SLS Coordinator must be experienced with
standards-based curriculum, technology, library automation, online media
and learning. Strong collaboration, planning and communication skills are
essential.
Qualifications:
v Certification as a New York State School Media Specialist with three
years experience as a school library media specialist
v Certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS)
