There is also a great story on http://www.crikey.com.au/business/wtohoax.html about 
some accountants
who got scammed here, ran a press release that ended up with some Canadian 
government minister
having egg on his face.  Others, in Finland I think, were also duped by the same 
hoax because the
presenters had a "great PowerPoint presentation".

I was listening to this on the radio in my car yesterday, so when I got home, I 
emailed the
broadcaster to tell him of the importance that we teacher-librarians place on 
teaching our kids the
need to confirm the authenticity of Internet-based materials, and that even print 
materials need to
be cross-referenced!

There seems to be a lack of understanding amongst the public about the importance 
of this part of
our role and so I took the opportunity to spread the word!
