We weeded hundreds of outdated books from our 900 section this year. One of
the last ones we weeded was, "Leaders of our time: series 3," published in
1966. The leaders highlighted included Mohammad Ayub Kahn (I had never heard
of him before), John Lindsay, Hubert Humphrey, Kosygin, Brezhnev, Arthur
Goldberg and the Romney who used to be the governor of Michigan, not the one
who's running for governor of Mass. now. Another one of my favorite weeds was
"Alaska, the 49th state."
