I just discovered a real treasure. It is the Database of Award-Winning Children's Literature created by Lisa Bartle, a reference librarian at California State University, San Bernardino. DAWCL has over 3,500 records from 49 awards. Entries are indexed by age, format, gender, genre, awards, ethnicity, setting, keyword/author, historical period, languages, multicultural, and publication year. What a wonderful resource! Database of Award-Winning Children's Literature http://www.dawcl.com I learned about this site in the book The Invisible Web by Chris Sherman and Gary Price.
