I still put cards and pockets in my books because my media center is very
open to staff and students and I am scheduled out of the center one period
per day or may be tied up with classes. Since I don't have a library aide
(except for students some periods but not all), it is easier for the
students and staff to still be able to sign a card and leave it in a drop
box on the desk. We put the barcode number on each card so I can input
the information for each item borrowed at the end of the period or
whenever I find a staff member has dropped a signed card in the
circulation box------Now, if I could just convince staff that even if they
only need an item for the day, they still need to SIGN IT OUT!!! (Heaven
forbid they should have to wait to have their barcodes scanned!!!)
