I have the book 'The Babe Ruth Ballet School' by Tim Shortt here in my library. It is a story about Babe Ruth and a 9-year-old Issy Archer, who "was the best pitcher on the powerful 1923 New York Yankee team." Issy takes up ballet and the Babe is upset because " dancing is so girlish." And, of course, Issy points out that she IS a girl. Now my question, why is this cataloged as a biography? The call number is 796.357. I find this story to be highly unlikely, and when I read it to the 1st graders, they questioned why it was shelved as a "number" book which means "it's a true book." Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks bunches. Roberta Kobbe Swaney Elementary Librarian 501 E.
