I am interested in hearing from those of you who have installed a "thin" = network in your libraries. I would like to know what type of equipment you are using, what operating = system, with what brand of library automation (software or web-based), and = whether the system has made a difference in workstation maintenance and = security. I currently have 30 pc workstations on a server running Novell, = with Follett Circ plus. I spend a lot of time and money on maintaining or = up-grading pcs, and a thin solution now sounds like an answer to many of = these problems. If you would like to praise or point out the down-side to = this type of system, I would appreciate hearing from you. I am Susan = Morken, Librarian at Friendswood High School, Friendswood, TX. e-mail = http://smorken@fisdk12.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
