My upper school (9-12) library has two copies of this book on the shelves. It's an important topic, and the students are encouraged to check it out. My daughter actually read it in middle school. I believe she bought it at a bookstore. That principal is a little behind the times. The book really doesn't have language the kids haven't already heard or read. I've read the book myself, and wasn't offended. Isn't the more important issue the lesson that comes from reading the book? Mary L.
