A teacher on my campus is looking for a series of books that were popular=
in the mid to late 1950s. Here's everything he could remember about th=
e books.

He recalls that there were between 4 to 7 books total in the series whic=
h took place in/around Boonesboro (?)-- Daniel Boone's village-- about t=
he same time as Daniel Boone (in/around the times of the Indian Wars).

A group of boys were the central characters and they all looked up to an=
other character named Lew Wetzel. The boys were always involved in vari=
ous adventures which included rescueing girls from "Injuns" (I know... =
absolutely politically incorrect on so many levels, but the teacher is a=
damant about trying to find them).

He is certain that they are not Zane Grey books, but he can't remember a=
ny title or series author. Maybe you can help. I would really apprecia=
te it.
