Sally, I, too, am a first year librarian. My fourth grade students and I had a very good time with Moo, Moo, Clack, Clack. The kids loved the repetition and I could group them. This helped to take care of kids who aren't fluent readers. I had a small class, and some of the kids are struggling readers. I did this last November, and last week one of the boys asked me when we're going to do readers' theatre again. They really enjoyed it. I kept it really simple, but involving the art teacher sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy it!
