Good Morning,

I am being pressed to set and adhere to a specified time frame from the time
books are received to the time they are cataloged, processed and on the
shelf. I am being pushed for one month. I try to explain that other items
come up, such as extra classes for research classes, planning for a new
library to break ground in the fall, planning for k-6 classes (7 and 8 come
for study hall), getting records ready for the initial dump to Acess PA
union catalog and audiovisual responsibilities. Up until November we got our
records from the Library of Congress, now we have a subscription to Follett
Alliance Plus Online so things are moving faster. Basicly we receive all our
books in the fall, 500-600 in number and my goal is to get them done by the
end of the school year. I am a one person library K-8 , 10,500 books with a
volunteer one day a week.

Is a month to process books from the time they are received reasonable?

Please let me know.

In addition they want a major library reading promotion in addition to the
author week I am already involved in.

Thanks for your input.
