I have grant money to buy classroom materials for a high school sustained
silent reading program. It is only once a week for 22 minutes. I am
thinking of getting paperbacks like Athletic Shorts, Patrick McManus, Dave
Barry, urban legends, etc. I would make up a collection of 3 or 4 books for
classrooms that need them and then rotate the books at quarter or semester.
What I need are title suggestions of your most popular books with short
stuff in them. We have a very large short story collection that doesn't get
much use, so it is hard for me to gauge which short story titles might be
the best.
