We are in the process of evaluating our summer reading lists for this coming summer. I'd like to know what our peer schools are doing in this area. Please let me know the following, if you can. 1. What is the goal of your summer reading program? 2. How many books are on the list for English (grades 6-8)? 3. Are only selected books on the list, or do students have a choice to read whatever they want to read? 4. Who determines what is on the list? 5. Are projects or other types of work required for accountability? If so, what are they? 6. How many books are on the list for Social Studies (grades 6-8)? 7. Are only selected books on the list, or do students have a choice to read whatever they want to read? 8. Who determines what is on the list? 9. Are projects or other types of work required for accountability? If so, what are they? Thanks, (Ms.) Murry U.
