Lisa, I think it is a matter of how much money a library budget has. In a <good> year I get $2000 total for 600 kids. How can I possibly spend $100 on a library journal? My administration does not require me to buy "reviewed" books. By the time I purchase supplies, get the newest Caldecotts, replace a few old favorites, add to a few collections, like Junie B. Jones and Arthur, and throw in a few snake or pet books, the money is GONE.
